Eco-Friendly Flooring Solutions –
For you and the world

The growing popularity of eco-friendly materials in homes and businesses is here to stay, as more and more customers are asking for greener solutions. Not only are these materials better for the environment, but they also offer a healthier living space.

This eco-friendly trend has certainly extended into the flooring industry, with a variety of green flooring options now available that are made from natural, renewable substances. Green flooring can be particularly important for those with asthma and other respiratory issues, minimizing or eliminating the amount of VOCs released in the air that can exacerbate these breathing problems.

The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) offers their own green certification for flooring products that achieve this highest level of eco-friendliness. When shopping for green flooring, be sure to look for the CRI GreenCircle Certified products.
At Cardoza Flooring we care about the environment and the health of our customers. We believe it is our responsibility to be a more eco-friendly flooring company. We carry a variety of green flooring, including the Tarkett brand, Lauzon hardwood flooring, and many other eco-friendly brands.

A Greener Installation

But the green options don’t just stop at the floor itself. For carpet, the underneath padding can be made from recycled materials, as opposed to the standard plastic paddings that are made from petroleum. Chemical-based glues have often been used to install carpets. One option is to use water-based, low-VOC glue to install the carpet. Forgoing the glue altogether in favor of tacking down the carpet can make a significant difference in the pollutants that are released into the air.

Safe Disposal for a Healthy Planet

Another way that Cardoza Flooring works to make our environment a little greener is in the disposal of old flooring that we remove. This is a significant contributor to landfills. Whenever possible, we recycle the old carpet and flooring to ensure that it does not just end up in a landfill.
